Timetables have been distributed and final preparations are underway for the National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA) set for April 16 and 17.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Education, 15,500 candidates have been registered to sit the exams. Four subjects will be assessed: English Language, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies. Each subject will comprise two papers. English Language and Science will be administered on April 16 and Mathematics and Social Studies on April 17.
The ministry said timetables for the candidates were prepared and distributed last month countrywide and training sessions are being held for supervisors and invigilators in the administration of all examinations and to inform them about the new procedures for these examinations. To date training has concluded in Essequibo, Region Two; at Kamarang and Bartica in Region Seven; Paramakatoi, Region Eight; Lethem, Region Nine and in Linden, Region Ten.
