Persaud takes on this new portfolio at a time when the police are struggling to make breakthroughs in crime cases and win the confidence of members of the public. In this photograph Persaud poses for reporters following a farewell parade on Wednesday for Assistant Commissioner of Police, George Vyphuis who now heads into retirement.
