Dear Editor,
I think it’s truly wonderful that another Canadian company is coming to mine gold. After all we had a wonderful time with the cyanide-laced pond that an earlier company spilled. It’s beyond ridiculous that our natural resources are being exploited for pennies on the dollar. Only a few will profit from this venture. Guyana has enough resources to feed, educate, and provide for social and economic stability for all. It’s amazing how these former communists, hardly any of whom ever served in the military protecting our nation, are the first to sell out. But I guess if you never saw the beauty of the nation from the top of Ayanganna, like my father, then it’s easy to sell what was never yours.
Yours faithfully,
