Dear Editor,
Our national budget is a huge $220 billion which is to be spent to improve the lives of each and every Guyanese. Therefore in response every taxpayer should be like an auditor, examining expenditure in every sector in each of our 10 administrative regions. They should check on the quality of work to ascertain that it is not substandard in relation to cost. If the outcome is not satisfactory, then the relevant authorities should be questioned (not criticized). These queries should be welcome because of democratic obligation on the part of the government to the people to whom it is responsible.
Yours faithfully,
George Carrington
