St. George’s Secondary crushed New Campbellville by a 5-1 score line in their u-15 male fixture when the Guyana Sports Development Foundation (GSDF) Pepsi/Scotia Bank football tourney continued recently at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.
Joshua Williams opened the scoring for St. George’s in the 24th minute, striking his effort into the roof of the net from within the centre of the penalty area.
Orin Forde would double the North Road unit’s lead in the 26th minute through a curling right footed strike into the lower right hand corner from within the left side of the 18 yard box, after evading multiple markers during a 30 yard left sided solo run.
Forde would net his double two minutes later, lobbing the opposing custodian with a right footed 40 yard effort from the centre of the field, after spotting the latter off his goal line.
New Campbellville would cut the deficit to two in the 37th minute through a Marlon Bethel strike into the left hand corner of the net from within the right side of the penalty area.
St. George’s would restore their three goal advantage in the 40th minute as Forde sealed his hat trick through a right sided corner kick, which evaded everyone inside the area and settled into the left hand side of the net. The result would be completed seven minutes later as Melvin Smart netted with a strike to the left hand corner of the net from within the centre of the penalty box.
In the other u-15 male matchups, Bishops’ High and Christ Church Secondary played to a nil-all draw while Queen’s College earned a walkover victory against Chase’s Academy.
