Guyana, at the bottom of the points standings with 21 points, have been beset by more problems following injury to two key players ahead of the seventh and final round of the Regional Four Day cricket Tournament tomorrow against Trinidad and Tobago.
Left-arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul, one of the most successful of the Guyana bowlers this season
and middle order batsman Chanderpaul Hemraj are reportedly injured and have been forced out of the team to play Trinidad.
The Guyana team is without a win in this year’s competition but will be looking to end the competition on a high.
According to reports, the two players Permaul and Hemraj have contracted chicken pox. They will be replaced by former West Indies leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo and batsman Vishal `Cheesy’ Singh who scored a half century in an earlier match of the competition before being dropped.
Guyana have lost four of their five matches and drawn one against the Windward Islands.
They play front runners Trinidad and Tobago at the Providence National Stadium today.
