Dear Editor,
Only in Guyana would its citizens be at the mercy of criminals, as in the case of Rajendra Singh. This case is a stark reminder of what took place post-2000,where terror was unleashed on the nation, as never seen before.
All stakeholders need to understand that the security of citizens is of the utmost importance. I don’t think this would happen in a country like the United States, since there is zero tolerance for any form of terrorizing citizens. I tend to think that lives in Guyana are not important and nothing is done to seriously pursue the criminals.
I have friends in law enforcement in the United States who are willing to give their expert advice on areas to strengthen the GPF. One such individual told me that when he broached the subject with an officer who has seniority in the Ministry of Home Affairs, he was told that they have everything under control. If so, they should find the murderer/s of Rajendra Singh.
I will be anxiously following this.
Yours faithfully,
