The Bishops’ High School, led by two goals each from Joel Morrison and Imran Khan crushed Tucville Secondary 4-2 in an U15 match when the Guyana Sports Development Foundation (GSDF) Pepsi/Scotia Bank tourney continued yesterday.
Played at the Ministry of Education ground on Carifesta Avenue, Morrison would open the scoring for the Carmichael Street unit through a fifth minute strike to the bottom left hand side of the net.
Tucville would level the score in the 21st minute as Keifer Brandt lobbed his right footed attempt over the head of the Bishops’ custodian from within the centre of the penalty area, after collecting a right sided cross.
Bishops’ would retake the lead in the 24th minute as Khan opened his account with a right footed strike to the bottom right hand corner, from inside the left side of the 18 yard area.
Khan would extend the Bishops’ lead nine minutes later, completing his double with a finish to the bottom right hand corner after collecting a left sided cross from within the right side of the penalty area.
The lead would be extended to three goals in the 55th minute as Morrison sealed his brace, smashing his right footed effort into the bottom left side of the net from inside the centre of the 18 yard box.
Tucville would eventually pull one back in the 57th minute as Carl Lynch netted through a powerfully taken right footed freekick from just outside the centre of the box, which struck the crossbar and finished at the back of the woodwork.
In the earlier fixture in the same division, Tutorial Secondary led by a David Coates hat trick and double strikes from Mario Padmore and Kevon Roach, brushed aside School of the Nations by a 8-0 score line.
Coates registered his hat trick in the 28th, 40th and 56th minutes while Padmore and Roach netted their respective doubles in the 11th and 23rd and 37th and 55th minutes correspondingly. Completing the result was Keshawn Thomas who netted in the 23rd minute.
