Dear Editor,
For those interested there will be a total eclipse of the Moon very early Tuesday morning April 15, 2014.
The Earth’s shadow will start to blot out the Moon at 1.59 am high in the western sky.
Total eclipse begins 3.07 am and ends 4.26 am. During this time of totality the Moon will be going down in the western sky and may take on interesting dim colours. Because of this dimness, even light clouds may cause the Moon to disappear altogether. Earth’s umbral shadow leaves the full Moon by 5.34 am as it sets in the west.
Yours faithfully,
Alfred Bhulai
