A Route 42 (Georgetown to Timehri) minibus, licence plate BNN 7970, ran into a trench yesterday afternoon as it attempted to navigate Rahaman’s Turn, Houston, in the vicinity of National Hardware. According to the vehicle’s conductor, its brakes failed as the driver attempted to make the turn. He said that there were about 15 passengers in the bus when it went overboard. None of them was seriously injured. When Stabroek News left the scene around 18:17 hrs. a tow truck was still battling to remove the vehicle from the trench. The vehicle’s owner, who arrived at the scene after being alerted to the accident, said the driver started working the bus on Saturday.
