An Agricola man facing three counts of armed robbery was yesterday remanded to prison when he appeared before the Providence Magistrate’s Court.
Dwayne Young, 20, of 133 Brutus Street, Agricola, denied that on April 2, at Eccles, he robbed Seeranie Persaud, in the company of others, of over $1 million of items, including electronics and jewellery while being armed with a gun. The items, Prosecutor Shellon Daniels said, had been the property of Seeranie, Guru and Vishal Persaud.
Young denied all three of the charges when they were read to him by Magistrate Leron Daly.
Last week, the young man had been brought before Magistrate Daly on an armed robbery charge. The police’s case is that on April 2, in Eccles, Young robbed Modhumattie Naukoo of $1,000 at gunpoint. At his last appearance, the man had denied the charge and had been on remand.
He will remain on remand until August 5 for statements.
