Sir Stephen Sedley, a former Lord Justice of the Court of Appeal of England recently paid a courtesy call on President Donald Ramotar at the Office of the President. Sir Stephen was accompanied by Melinda Janki (executive director of the Justice Institute Guyana), Michael Ellman an international human rights lawyer who is also a solicitor (England) and a non-executive director of the Justice Institute. Dr Desmond Bermingham, the chairman of the Justice Institute Guyana was also present along with the Attorney General Anil Nandlall.
Sir Stephen was in Guyana to participate in a Judicial Colloquium organised by the Justice Institute Guyana with the collaboration of the Supreme Court of Guyana. He also delivered the Justice Institute’s Inaugural Rule of Law lecture.
