Taxi driver Randolph Edwards was yesterday released on bail and bonded to be on good behaviour after denying a charge that he battered his stepson.
Edwards, 52, of 146 Sixth Street Alberttown, appeared before Magistrate Ann McLennan in a city court, where he pleaded not guilty to the charge of unlawful assault of Ron Clarke, resulting in actual bodily harm.
Prosecutor Deniro Jones said that on the 10th of April, Edwards assaulted his 19-year-old stepson in their familial home. Edwards pleaded not guilty to the charge and was released on $15,000 bail with a bond to be on good behaviour.
Magistrate McLennan further issued an arrest warrant for Clarke as he was not present in court.
The two will return to court on May 15th before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry.
