Timehri Panthers suffered their first defeat when they went under to Grove Hi-Tech by a 2-0 score line when the Stag Beer/East Bank Football Association (EBFA) division-one league continued on Sunday at the Grove Community ground.
Captain Domini Garnett gave the home side the early lead compliments of a 14th minute strike. The result would be sealed in the 70th minute as Timehri conceded an untimely own goal.
Grove currently leads the points standings with Timehri Panthers second.
In the opening matchup of the doubleheader, Kuru Kururu Warriors completed their third win of the season, crushing Herstelling FC by a 4-0 margin.
Cordel Johnson led the winners with a hat trick on either side of half time in the 46th, 71st and 86th minutes. He was assisted by Rakesh Haimnauth who opened the scoring for the Warriors in the 27th minute.
With the win the Warriors move to fourth position whilst Herstelling remain in the cellar position with no wins to date.
