BK Western Tigers defeated Black Pearl by a 6-1 score line when the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) second division league continued at the Tucville Community ground on Tuesday.
Mark Carrega would give Black Pearl the unlikely lead with a sublime 13th minute strike. Spotting the goalkeeper well off his goal line from the centre of the park, Carrega would lob the ball from 40 yards out which sailed over the head of the Western custodian and settled into the back of the net.
Western Tigers would level the scores 14 minute later through a Daren Benjamin 24 yard left footed strike from centre of the field which comically rolled through the legs of the opposing goalkeeper.
The West Ruimveldt side would take the lead in the 52nd minute through another goalkeeping error as a left sided Joshua Britton strike sailed into the middle of the goal, following the custodian’s failure in attempting to call the shot.
It would become 3-1 six minutes later as Randolph Wagner netted, lashing his right footed attempt over the outstretched hands of the goalie into the middle of the net, from the centre of the field.
Joshua Ramotar would then add to the score line in the 63rd minute, placing his flat right footed effort down the middle of the goal from within the right side of the box, following a cheeky Orvin Millington pass from just outside the right side box.
Benjamin would then seal his double in the 89th minute, powering his left footed effort from the centre of the field into the left hand side of the goal.
The result would be completed one minute later as Lorenzo Jewsberry headed home from the centre of the six yard box, following a left sided cross from Millington. In the second matchup of the card, Pele FC edged Flamingo FC by a 3-2 score in their first division showdown.
