Transport Sports Club (TSC) defeated Bel Air Rubis by 46 runs despite an excellent bowling performance by Alex Chunilall, when action continued in the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA)/Brain-street Group Under-15 Cricket Competition on Thursday.
Chunilall took 5-26 and wrecked the Thomas Lands side after they opted to bat. TSC made 103 all-out in 26.3 overs. Daniel Scott
top scored with 22 (2×4, 1×6) while Devon Allen and Colin Barlow made 16 and 12 runs respectively.
In reply, Bel Air Rubis was skittled for 57 in 21.5 overs, with only Chunilall (13) and Bhesham Sharma (11) getting to double figures. Bowling for TSC Mark Baptiste and Anthony Antonio took three wickets each.
At Gandhi Youth Organisation Ground, Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) defeated Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC) by six wickets. Batting first, MSC was bowled out for 74 in 28 overs when Ronaldo McGarrel top scored with 22 which lasted for 18 overs at the crease.
National youth off-spinner Sagar Hathiramani picked up 3-1 from five overs while Dorien Dickson, Kristoff De Nobrega and Ashmead Nedd took two wickets each.
DCC’s batting was spearheaded by Alphius Bookie and Hathiramani who remained unbeaten at the end with 33 and 15 respectively. Bowling for MSC, Andrew Persaud took 2-7.
