With baseball in the United States blasting off its 2014 season the Guyana Baseball League is pushing on with its quest to popularise the sport here. Three pickup matches are being staged this weekend in various locations around the country under the expertize of league president Robin Singh. A quantity of equipment will be donated to four active teams during the games.
On a recent visit to the United States Singh acquired support from Fly Jamaica airline which transported the equipment.
The series of matches started yesterday at the GCC ground and will continue today in Berbice at the All Saints Ground (Scot’s School) New Amsterdam. Another game is set for tomorrow at Cornelia Ida, West Demerara.
