A New Amsterdam businessman was yesterday remanded to prison after he was charged with the April 16 shooting dead of a man at Angoy’s Avenue, New Amsterdam.
Charles Bristol Henry appeared before Magistrate Rabindranauth Singh in the Albion Magistrate’s Court. He was not required to plead to the charge of murdering of Errol Lindo.
He is expected to return to court on April 28 at the New Amsterdam Magistrate’s Court for report.
Lindo, 52, called ‘Sono’ and ‘Son-son’ was shot three times about his the body at his residence allegedly by Henry.
A post-mortem examination performed on Lindo yesterday by government pathologist Dr Vivekanand Bridgemohan, revealed that he died from shock and haemorrhage due to multiple gunshot wounds.
Lindo and Henry had been involved in a dispute over land and the matter was in court. Eyewitnesses had stated that Henry had taken a crew to Lindo’s house when he was not at home on April 16 and they had torn it down.
It was when Lindo returned later that day that he was shot dead.
