The Special Events and 75th Anniversary Committee of the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) headed by Hilbert Foster have announced some minor changes to its Diamond Jubilee programme for the month of September.
The awards presentation and dinner which was scheduled for September 20 will now be held on August 31. The BCB is also asking if all its ex-test cricketers, national junior and senior cricketers and ex-administrators can take note of the change of date. The awards ceremony is being sponsored by overseas based Guyanese Bobby Deonarine of Tenelec, Motie Phanisnaraine of Golden Arrow Sports Bar and Jameel Mohamed from City Bias Stitching Company.
The month of celebration will be launched with a religious event on the evening of August 30 which will be followed by two T20 matches on August 31st, the first match commencing at 9:00hrs will include Under-19 players while the second, which starts at noon, will involve the senior Berbice cricketers.
The dinner and awards ceremony commences at 6 pm later that day at the St. Francis Training Centre.
The board is also hopeful that all of its living cricket legends and outstanding former administrators would take note of the changes in the dates and plan their next holiday visit to Guyana during the period August 30th to September 21st 2014.
The test players list includes: Rohan Kanhai, Basil Butcher, Joe Solomon, Alvin Kallicharran, Leonard Baichan, Sew Shivnarine, Clayton Lambert and Mahendra Nagamootoo. Former players who represented Guyana, the West Indies at the ODI, ‘A’ Level, U19 or females include Sudesh and Sunil Dhaniram, Ray Joseph, Leslaine Lambert, Arjune Nandu, Kamal Singh, Suresh Ganouri, Milton Pydana, Candace Atkins, Vilbert Benjamin, Tyrone and Romain Etwaroo, Armanauth Ramcharitar, Jerry Angus, Kevin Darlington, Karranchand Ramnarace, Deonarine Persaud, Hemnarine and Harrinarine Chattergoon, Andrew Gonsalves, Latchman Bhamsingh, David Fingal, Naeem Bakshand Fizul Sattaur among others.
The list of administrators includes Ancel Hazel, Lennox Phillips, Mortimer George, Sam Suchit, Prem Manbode, Oscar Ramjeet and Edward Bhagwandin among others.
The rest of the month of celebration activities would be hosted from September 1 to 20.
