Two men accused of killing Patsan Trading salesman Bharrat Ramcharan were remanded to prison today.
Randolph Marques, 20, and Kevin France, 26, were not required to plead to the capital offence when they appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry.
Attorney-at-law James Bond, who represented both men, claimed that Marques had been the victim of a “rigged ID parade” while adding that a statement was obtained from France through “trickery and inducement”.
Prosecutor Michael Grant revealed that there are 18 witnesses thus far for the prosecution.
Ramcharan was gunned down on April 24 during a robbery in front of the business while returning with millions of dollars in cash.
