-Wilson nets hat trick
Alpha United hammered Riddim Squad 6-1 when the Stag Beer sponsored Georgetown Football Association (GFA) second division league continued at the Tucville Community ground on Tuesday.
Held at bay for the opening period, Leon Grumble would open the scoring in the 56th minute with a simple finish down the middle of the net from inside the centre of the area, after pouncing on a deflected strike by the opposing custodian.
He would make it 2-0 10 minutes later with a tame right footed attempt that went comically under the body of the diving goalkeeper and into the lower right hand corner from inside the penalty area.
Riddim Squad would pull one back two minutes later through a curling right-footed Steffon Ramsay freekick which settled into the left hand corner of the net, from 24 yards out on the right side of the park.
However, Alpha would restore their two goal advantage in the 72nd minute as Ronaldo Dover netted with a simple finish to the lower right hand corner unmarked inside the area, after collecting an Abassi McPherson flat left sided cross.
Daniel Wilson would then add to the score line in the 85th minute, curling his right footed strike into the left hand corner of the net, after collecting a right sided McPherson pass, just on top of the 18 yard box.
Wilson would complete his double two minutes later, volleying his right footed attempt into the left hand corner, following a one-two pass combination with Edison Gomes just outside the centre of the area.
The huge win would be sealed in the 90th minute as Wilson completed his hat-trick with an easy right footed finish to the left hand corner, from the penalty spot following a foul inside the box. In the feature matchup, the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) trounced Houston Stars 4-0.
