League champions Guyana National Industrial Corporation (GNIC) will face Transport Sports Club (TSC) in today’s final of the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA)/ Brainstreet Under-15 Tournament at the Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC) Ground, Thomas Lands.
The two teams reached the final after outright wins with GNIC defeating MSC by 10 wickets while TSC defeated the Demerara Cricket Club ‘A’ by 107 runs.
GNIC will enter the match as favourite after playing unbeaten in the league stage. They will be spearheaded by their most consistent batsman, Joshua Persaud, who has already scored two centuries in the competition. Persaud will have several players with under-15 inter-county experience, in the likes of Christopher Campbell, Kurt Lovell and Paul Thomas among others, in his charge.
TSC also have several players with under-15 inter-county experience. However, their bowling attack of Colin Barlow, Mark Baptiste and Anthony Antonio can be destructive against any batting line up on a given day.
The match is set to begin at 9:30a.m.
Caption: Christopher Campbell and Joshua Persaud would have to play a key role today if GNIC is to come out on top.
Anthony Antonio and Colin Barlow will have to be very effective as TSC tackle GNIC today.
