The Guyana Tennis Association (GTA) has scheduled the first of several exciting exhibition matches over the next few months as a lead up to the Inter Guyana Games (IGG) for tennis which will be held in late October. The first showdown will be held this afternoon from 4pm on the courts of the National Racquet Centre, located opposite the Guyana Technical Institute (GTI) on Woolford Avenue.
The highly anticipated matchup will pit Berbice veteran player Godfrey Lowden against Albert Razick of the US Embassy here.
According to a release from the GTA, Lowden has been a formidable force in the Over 35 years category for many years while Razick has many years of experience playing tennis and is eager to test his prowess on the Guyanese tennis scene.
The match umpire will be Dr. Steve Surujbally.
