Despite the absence of national captain Leon Johnson the Georgetown Cricket Club will still start as favourites to defeat the Police Sports Club in the final of the Georgetown Cricket Association/Ansa McAl Carib Beer T20 first division competition today.
All-rounder Johnson is at the West Indies High Performance Centre Camp in Barbados preparing for the visit of Bangladesh’s A team from May 26 to June 15.
The final is billed for the Police Sports Club Ground, Eve Leary and it is scheduled to start at 1:00 pm.
Police, who scored an upset defeat of the much vaunted Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) will be looking to arrest the GCC team in what is their first final for a number of years,
While Police will look to all-rounder Ricardo Adams to continue his fine form and lead them to victory, GCC will be banking on Guyana Amazon Warriors’ latest recruit Robin Bacchus.
The umpires for the match will be Shannon Crawford and Yosef Yisrael with Zaheer Mohamed as the reserve umpire and a keen tussle is anticipated.
