Since releasing his debut solo album ‘Heart to Heart’ in 2012, nothing but success has followed Guyanese gospel artiste Samuel Medas. And he is about to make history again with the release of his sophomore solo album, ‘This Peculiar Journey’.
The twenty-five-year-old, recording artiste has been blazing a trail for Guyanese music and has attracted lots of local and international attention while at it, landing him performances in the Caribbean, US, and British territories within the past year. Just returning from trips to New York, St Kitts and Antigua, he is 
back in the studio putting together the final pieces of his 12-track project which features collaborations with quite a few promising faces of Guyanese music, like Melissa Vandeyar, Allan Petty, and Jeremiah Williams. He is also the founder of The Comfort Zone Inc, a Christian record label that works with well-known and aspiring gospel artistes. Its aim is to raise Guyanese music up to another level. “People always tell me that my music doesn’t sound Guyanese,” says Medas, who has a personal hand in every aspect of his music production. “I guess it’s just their way of saying that it’s something of high quality but I’m hoping in the years to come, high quality and content will become the norm for music in Guyana.”
The launch of ‘This Peculiar Journey’ is slated for the Love & Faith World Outreach Church (Upper Dennis Street, Sophia) on May 24 at 6.30 pm. Tickets which cost $1,000, admit two people and there’s a bonus of a free CD. There will also be a live show featuring Samuel Medas and other Guyanese artistes.
