Renaissance defeated Sunburst Camptown by a 5-1 score line when the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) u-17 football league continued yesterday at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground.
Idany Jobe opened the scoring for the winners in the 24th minute with a right footed attempt into the right hand corner of the goal, from within the right side of the penalty area.
Azuma Small levelled the score line for Sunburst Camptown in the 36th minute with powerfully struck 22 yard right footed freekick from outside the centre of the box, which sailed into the left hand corner.
Renaissance would retake the lead seven minutes later through a right footed Ahmad Stephenson strike into the left hand corner of the net, from within the right side of the 18 yard box.
It would become 3-1 in the 57th minute as Jobe completed his double, placing his flat effort down the middle of the goal from within the left side of the area.
David George would add to their tally three minutes later, netting with a right footed strike from within the right hand side of the box, into the lower left hand corner of the goal.
The victory would be sealed in the 62nd minute as Stephenson sealed his double with a easy finish to the back of the net from inside the area.
In the second matchup, BK Western Tigers edged Santos FC by a 2-1 margin. Dequan Matthews and Moses Gritten found the back of the net for the winners in the eighth and 12th minutes respectively. Scoring for the losers was Mario Padmore in the 38th minute.
In the first matchup, Mocha based unit Riddim Squad FC edged Black Water FC by a 1-0 score. Travis Anthony netted the winner in the 64th minute.
