A pensioner was found dead in the fierce Sunday afternoon sun yesterday at Fyrish.
The elderly man was found in the vicinity of his son’s home.
He has been identified as 74-year-old Herbie Hercules of Hampshire Street, Courtland, Fyrish, Berbice.
Stabroek News understands that the man and some relatives had a dispute concerning his residence. During the dispute he was locked out of the home and placed on the streets. However the man managed to crawl into the yard and later succumbed.
Residents and relatives expressed shock at the way he had been treated by those in whose care he was left. A wound was visible on his head.
His body is currently at the Ramoo’s Funeral Parlour awaiting an autopsy. He leaves to mourn his children and other relatives and friends.
