Diamond United and Herstelling FC plated a 1-1 draw when the inaugural CULT Energy Drink-sponsored East Bank Football Association (EDFA) under-17 league commenced on Saturday at the Grove Community ground.
Nathaniel Paul gave Diamond United the early lead with a ninth minute conversion. However, Herstelling would earn a share of spoils compliments of a second half strike from Rickey Debydial in the 66th minute of the 70th minute affair.
In the second matchup, Agricola Red Triangle defeated Timehri Panthers by a 1-0 score line. Mario Campbelle separated the two sides, earning the valuable three points with a second half strike.
Prior to the commencement of the matches, one minute’s silence was observed for the late Grove Hi Tech player Delon Barton. The action will continue at the same venue on Saturday with a doubleheader.
In the opening fixture Soesdyke Falcons will faceoff with home side Grove Hi Tech at 14:00hrs while Kuru Kururu Warriors will battle Diamond United in the feature matchup at 16:00hrs.
