The Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) has openly expressed its favor over the recent passing of the long awaited Cricket Administration Bill 2012 and also lauded the Government of Guyana and their main Opposition Party, APNU.
In a press release sent by the BCB yesterday, the BCB pointed out that the passage of the bill was important, deeming it as a means of bringing back sanity and decency to Guyana’s lovely game of cricket.
The release stated that the BCB was disappointed with the opposition party, Alliance For Change (AFC) for not supporting the bill when taking into consideration that many of their executive members are Berbicians and their county suffered the most in the current chaos.
However, the BCB said it had remained steadfast over the years and was still able to fulfill its mandate despite the many challenges. It is the BCB’s hope now that the next process will be expedited as quickly as possible so that all involved can quickly turn around the fortunes of Guyana’s cricket at the regional level.
The BCB, reiterates its position that they are willing to work with any cricket board that is legally elected and believes in accountability, transparency and has genuine love for cricket, ended the release.
