The quarterfinal and eventual semi-final rounds of the second annual Guinness Greatest of the Streets East Coast tourney will commence today at the Haslington Market Tarmac.
In the opening matchup at 18:00hrs, Paradise will face off with Victoria Church Yard United while Melanie-A will lock horns with Beterverwagting (BV)-A in the second fixture at 18:30hrs.
The third quarterfinal will see defending champions Plaisance facing off against BV-B at 19:00hrs whilst the final fixture in the quarterfinal round will witness Melanie-B tackling Victoria Eagles from 20:00hrs.
Following the conclusion of the final eight stage, the winner of the Paradise/Church Yard United fixture will battle victor of Melanie-A/BV-A matchup in the first semi-final showdown at 22:00hrs.
The second semi-final matchup at 22:30hrs will pit the winner of the Plaisance/BV-B fixture against the victor of the Melanie-B/Victoria Eagles matchup. The respective semi-final winners will then battle in the tournament final on Saturday 24th at the same venue.
The winner of the tournament will pocket $300,000 and the first place trophy while second, third and fourth placed finishers will collect $150,000, $75,000 and $50,000 respectively.
The resulting finalists will also earn the right to represent the East Coast Zone at the national event which is scheduled to commence shortly in the year.
