(Jamaica Gleaner) WESTERN BUREAU: A 14-year-old Cambridge High School student has reportedly confessed to the murder of nine-year-old Romaine Robinson who was found stabbed to death in Plantation Heights in Cambridge, St James on Thursday.
The teenage boy, who reportedly committed the murder, was arrested by the St James police yesterday morning. It is reported that the teen who also resides in Plantation Heights fought with the nine-year-old boy before killing him.
Gwendolyn Scott-Foster, the grandmother of the nine-year-old boy, said the murder has left her family and the community shocked and bewildered.
When Romaine’s body was found, his mouth was gagged, and his feet and hands were bound.
Romaine Robinson, a grade-three student at the Bickersteth Primary School, was found by a citizen who stumbled upon his bloodied body about 4:30 a.m. yesterday.
Romaine’s killing came two days after the bodies of twin boys Brandon and Brayden Jones were recovered from the sea at Dump Up Beach, Montego Bay, after they were swept away by floodwaters Monday evening.
