Last week’s Pre Independence horse race meet was the appetizer, today is the main course for turfites.
The cream of the nation’s thoroughbreds will be mounted at the Rising Sun Turf Club for the staging of the annual PPP Independence Cup from 13:00hrs.
Seven races are carded for the event with the A and Lower being the feature attraction. The seven-furlong race fetches a total of $1.85M with the winning stable netting an appetizing $1M.
This event will features Guyana’s premier trotter, Score’s Even and the likes of Treacle, California Strike, Jack In My Style, Got To Go, Run Na Na Run, Rock Movie Star and Torro Rosso.
A thrilling race is anticipated.
The other classified races for today’s meet are the J1 and Lower, D3 and Lower, G3 and Lower, Three-year old Guyana Bred and the F1 and Lower.
Some of the steeds that will compete in those fixtures include Swing Easy, Appealing Harvest, Cat Messiah, Damascus Dream, Unsettled, Home Bush Baby, Royal Empire, IT’s My Turn, Fresh Again, C.P Got Even, Force Entry, Gold Rush, Ameera Joy, Cassie, Silent Night, Miss Doubt Fire, Week End Surprise, Rosetta, Easy To Win, Moonsoon, Set For Fame, Bridal Stone Corner, Prince Bayaya, Iron man, Famous Pride, Princess Alicia, Savion, Red Cloud, Shooting Star, Smarty Light, Set For Fame, Party Time and Mary Ann.
In excess of $4M will be up for grabs.
