The Guyana Police Force (GPF) is looking into the death of an unidentified man whose body was discovered on the Eccles Access Road, East Bank Demerara (EBD) with a suspected bullet wound on Saturday.
Information reaching this newspaper indicates that the body bore three gunshot wounds. One to the man’s side, another to his arm and another on his head.
The body was discovered around 22:00 hrs on Saturday and the police reported yesterday that they still have not been able to confirm the identity of the man. Calls to Lyken Funeral Parlour, where the body was taken after discovery, revealed that no one has turned up to identify the body.
Stabroek News checked the area where the man’s body was reportedly found but none of the residents could recall hearing or seeing anything suspicious before, or around the time the man’s body was found.
According to a police press release the dead man appears to be in his thirties. At the time he was found he was wearing blue jeans, black shoes, and a blue denim coat over a white jersey.
