An elderly man dropped dead yesterday morning in Triumph, East Coast Demerara (ECD) as he was making his way home from church.
A post-mortem will not be done until Wednesday to determine the cause of death, but the friends and relatives of seventy-five year-old Christopher Bose are fairly certain he died of natural causes. One suggested that it might have been a heart attack.
Bose, of 27 Dr. Miller Street, Triumph, ECD, left his home around 07:20 yesterday morning to attend church a few minutes away.
Relatives believe he collapsed as he was on his way home from the church service. One of the man’s sons, Christopher Bose Jr., told Stabroek News that the family was alerted to his father’s body at around 09:30hrs by neighbours who saw him lying on the left shoulder of Dr. Miller Street, a few feet from the highway.
The neighbour who first noticed the man’s body on the road and rushed to render aid said Bose was already dead when he arrived on the scene, but not by long as his body was still very warm. The man called Bose’s relatives, who live just a few houses from where he collapsed, who then called the police. The Police then contacted the Lyken Funeral Parlour to pick up the man’s body.
As the family waited for the hearse to arrive the rain began to pour, and relatives put the body into a vehicle.
Bose was self-employed and survived by his wife and three children.
