On Tuesday, the Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company made a donation of $500,000 to the Saraswati Vidya Niketan, a not-for-profit secondary educational institution located at Cornelia Ida, West Coast Demerara.
A release from GT&T said that the financial contribution is in aid of the institution’s efforts to construct a science laboratory.
According to Swami Aksharananda, the Principal-Founder of the school, the school which started 10 years ago with 35 students and 5 teachers has grown to a 475 student population with 32 teachers.
The school has earned its place as a top secondary school in Guyana.
