Grove Hi-Tech led by hat tricks from Dominic Garnett and Timothy Griffith, mauled Mocha Champs 8-1 when the first round of the Stag Beer sponsored East Bank Football Association (EBFA) division one league concluded on Monday.
Hosted at the Grove Community ground, Dexter Archer would open the scoring for the home side with a 10th minute conversion. Garnett would increase his side’s lead as he found the back of the net two minutes later.
It would become 3-0 in the 27th minute as Griffith etched his name on the scorer’s sheet. Griffith would grab his first half double as he scored in the 38th minute. His hat trick would be completed in the 57th minute as Grove further extended their lead.
The lopsided encounter would continue as Garnett netted his second goal through a 62nd minute effort. He would seal his hat trick six minutes later as the score ballooned to 7-0. Lloyd Matthews would net the final goal, etching his name on the scorer’s sheet in the 73rd minute.
Netting a consolation goal for the Mocha unit was Jermin Liverpool in the 75th minute.
