A porter was yesterday sentenced to six months for stealing a bicycle.
Vijay Singh, 37, admitted that he, on May 22, at Lot 21 Public Road, La Penitence, stole a $30,000 bicycle belonging to Paul Young.
According to Prosecutor Bharat Mangru, the facts were as charged.
When given an opportunity to explain himself, Singh noted that the owner “get back the bike.” Before he was sentenced, he also admitted that he had been sentenced to eight months for breaking into a stall and stealing plantains.
