Brunfeisia pauciflora commonly called ‘Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow’ originated from Brazil, and is found throughout South and Central America. It belongs to the Solanceae family.
The flowers of this showy shrub look pansy like, and have a white throat which opens purple on the first day, then lavender the next day and finally white on the third day – hence the name. Brunfeisia pauciflora is an evergreen shrub with branching leathery leaves which grow approximately three feet tall in full sun. This amazing shrub has gained the Royal Horticulture Society’s Award of Merit. Small and medium potted plants are available on sale at nurseries and were recently on sale at the Flower Show. You can try growing it from cuttings. Fertilize with Miracle Gro All Purpose Plant Food every 7-14 days.
This amazing shrub would make any garden a showpiece with its three colours.
Until next week, happy gardening!
