Fruta Conquerors edged arch rivals Sunburst Camptown 2-1 when the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) under-17 league continued yesterday at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground, Bourda.
Randy Layne opened the scoring for the Tucville side in the 12th minute, placing his left footed attempt into the lower right hand corner of the net, from within the right side of the penalty area.
Jason Williams almost levelled the score line in the 49th minute as his right footed 25-yard effort from the centre of the field, crashed into the crossbar. The Campbellville unit would level the scores in the 62nd minute through a powerfully struck 30-yard free kick from Azuma Small who
rifled a right footer into the top left hand corner of the net, leaving the opposing custodian with simply no chance.
The Tucville side would retake the lead eight minutes later, as Randy Layne netted through a left footed curling 28 yard free kick from the left side of the field, which nestled into the right hand side of the net.
In the other results, Black Pearl FC defeated Pele FC by a 2-1 margin and Renaissance FC edged Riddim Squad 1-0.
