Investigator’s probing last month’s shooting of Subryanville resident Susanna Da Silva have hit a brick wall in their investigations; there appears to be no apparent motive and no arrests have been made.
The 26-year-old of Lot 75 David Street, Subryanville was taking her mother to the Cheddi Jagan International Airport on the morning of May 16 and had stopped at the home of her sister, Vanuza Da Silva, to collect a package her mother was supposed to take out of the country.
Police in a release had said the woman was in a car with other relatives outside a house on Garnett Street, Campbellville when a car with four men drove up. It was further stated that two of the men who were armed with firearms exited the motor vehicle and as they approached Susanna, she attempted to drive away but the men opened fire hitting her in the chest.
Contacted on Saturday, Crime Chief Leslie James said police were able to get a statement from Da Silva and investigations are still ongoing.
Vanuza told Stabroek News that her sister is “coming around.
She is still in the hospital. The doctor never said that she is paralyzed. She did surgery and now we are just waiting to see what will happen,” the woman said.
