Nicholas Carryl scored an unbeaten century for University of Guyana (UG) in their rain affected match of the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) /Noble House Seafoods second division two day competition on Sunday against Police which ended in a draw at the UG ground, Turkeyen.
Barbadian Carryl, a second-year law student at UG, scored 105 not out as UG made 221 all out in 50.5 overs. Carryl, who batted throughout the innings, was supported by Omesh Danram (30) as seamer Rawle Haynes claimed 3-35 from 13 overs. Haynes received support from Troy Benn and Sheldon Grey who claimed two wickets each.
In reply, Police reached 186-5 from 31 overs, with Stephan Blacks (76) the principal scorer while Benn and Daniel Barker scored 36 and 34 respectively. Leg spinner, Omesh Danram and off spinner Dennis Heywood were the pick of the UG bowlers with 3-63 and 2-75 respectively.
