Home side Albouystown-A defeated arch-rivals Laing Avenue by a 2-1 score line when the Mackeson ‘Keep Your Five Alive’ knockout tourney continued on Saturday at the Albouystown Basketball Tarmac.
Andrew Murray led the home side with a double while Orin Yarde found the back of the net for the losers.
In the second fixture, the Upsetters defeated King Street Ballers by a 2-1 margin. Cleon Forrester and Eron Hayde netted for the winners.
In the third fixture of the night, the East Coast outfit Melanie led by goals from Travis Bowman and Kellon Loncke, blanking Rasville 2-0.
In the fourth fixture, North East La Penitence edged Middle Road by a 1-0 score line. Calvin Moore netted the game’s only goal.
In the opening match-up of the night, Alexander Village led by a Delon Williams second half hat trick, overcame Vryheid’s Lust by 4-1. Shem Porter netted the fourth goal for the winners.
The action moves to the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall tarmac, Homestretch Avenue on Saturday with the sensational round of 16 stage. The roster for the night include Albouystown-B facing off against Texas, West Front Road battling Sophia, Melanie locking horns with Parfaite Harmonie and the Upsetters opposing Alexander Village.
In the final four matches of the night, Tiger Bay will face off against Leopold Street, North East La Penitence will engage Broad Street, Albouystown-A will tackle Back Circle and defending champions Sparta Boss will oppose Castello Housing Scheme.
