Salesman Kelvin Fortune, accused of fraudulently converting a Samsung Galaxy cellphone to his own use and benefit, was placed on $100,000 bail after denying the charge yesterday.
The Lot 4 Public Road Mc Doom resident appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry at the George-town Magistrates’ Court.
According to the charge, on June 6, Fortune was solely entrusted by Collin Boyce with the phone, but converted it to his own use.
No further facts were related by Prosecutor Bharat Mangru, who declined an objection to Fortune’s bail application.
The matter will be called again on June 27 for filing of statements.
