There is no substitute for a well-kept lawn. Lawn grass needs as much attention as any other plant. With the recent rainfall we are getting at the moment, the grass on your lawn may be showing signs of distress.
The most important thing if you want to maintain your lawn is to have good drainage around it so that the water can easily run off.
You would also need to spike your lawn with a fork. The spike should penetrate the soil to a depth of approximately 3-4 inches. This breaks the surface to allow air and water to get down to the roots. Push the fork into the soil at intervals, flexing it back and forth to loosen the turf and soil.
You would need to add lawn fertilizer fortnightly, as the rain would have leached out the nutrient from the lawn until it improves. You can use Miracle Gro All Purpose Plant Food as it includes lawns at a strength of 1 tbsp to 1 gallon of water.
Alternatively, if you have the Miracle Gro Garden Feeder fill the bottle with approximately 1lb of Miracle Gro and attach it to your garden hose and use that to fertilize your lawn. A good lawn should be level, trim and uniform.
All uneven patches should be filled with soil. There is nothing like a good lawn to enhance gardens and parks with their beautiful trees and flowers.
