Team Coco’s Stephano ‘Sonny’ Husbands edged Robin Persaud in a thrilling two-man sprint finish yesterday to emerge winner of the feature 35-lap event of the 14th annual P and P Insurance and General Consultancy Limited 11-race cycle programme.
In cool conditions at the National Park, the 17-year-old stopped the clock in one hour, 16 minutes and 25 seconds.
It was the former Mountain Biker first victory since switching to racing bikes in January.
Marlon ‘Fishy’ Williams who carted off half of the eight sprint prizes, joined Husbands and Persaud on the podium.
Husbands’ teammates, Raynauth Jeffrey, Hamza Eastman and Junior Niles rounded out the top six positions.
