A man accused of abusing his common-law wife was on Thursday admitted to self-bail pending a probation report.
The accused, Raymond Luckham, was so ordered after his wife had indicated to the court that she no longer wished to offer evidence against him.
However Magistrate Geeta Chandan-Edmond ordered the parties to undergo counselling.
Luckham denied the charge that he assaulted his wife, Elizabeth Springer, June 18 and used abusive language to her following an argument at a party.
He was represented by attorney Paul Fung-a-Fat, who requested a probation report in the circumstances.
The parties were ordered to return to the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court on June 27, pending the completion of the probation report for a final determination of the matter.
