Gun toting bandits struck on Tuesday night at No. 59 Village, Corentyne, Berbice, where they terrorised and robbed a couple during a home invasion.
The three armed robbers who carried out the attack carted off approximately $160,000 in cash as well as an undisclosed amount of jewellery belonging to Shaline Ramkissoon and Michael Peters, who operate a small grocery.
According to Ramkissoon, of Lot 181 Section A, Number 59 Village, Corentyne, the attack took place after she went into her yard to open the gate for Peters, her spouse, who was returning home at around 9pm. Upon their return into their house, they were greeted by three masked men armed with guns and cutlasses.
