Dear Editor,
Being an animal lover and owner of animals I always look forward to reading Dr Steve Surujbally’s article, the ‘Pet Corner’ in the Sunday Stabroek. I find it very informative and am able to gain helpful tips when needed. At the end of each article there is always a caption which in summary gives readers information on the GSPCA and advising them not to stray animals, to report animal abuse and have their pet(s) spayed or neutered, and to adopt a pet, etc. Then at the side there are pictures of dogs and or cats – beautiful pictures which causes one to think the animals are being up for adoption at the GSPCA. Now, upon checking you will never find these animals at the clinic. Why use these pictures instead of pictures of animals that are actually at the shelter which are up for adoption? I think if pictures of those animals are highlighted, persons will know and would want to go to adopt that pet. It is useless to put pictures of animals that really don’t exist in the shelter. While I don’t want to offend Dr Surujbally or the editor of the Sunday Stabroek, I am merely suggesting and voicing my opinion. I sincerely think that placing pictures in the newspapers of animals that are at the GPSCA will make a difference in assisting persons who are interested in adopting a pet.
Yours faithfully,
Peggy Singh
