Beginning tomorrow night at 9, the now Brooklyn resident will perform on a new ABC series called “Rising Star”. She is among the contenders for the top spot.
According to ABC, internationally acclaimed singer, songwriter Josh Groban is the host of “Rising Star”. The expert panel includes country music superstar Brad Paisley, music sensation Kesha and hip hop artist and actor Ludacris.
ABC says “Rising Star,” is the next evolution of live television and completely reinvents the traditional singing competition. The aspiring rising stars will perform live and during their performances, the audience will have determine which singers move forward by voting for them. If the voting reaches a certain threshold, the performer moves on. In addition, the performer can see how the voting is going throughout the performance.
To vote, viewers must download the Rising Star App through the Apple App Store, Windows Market Place, or the Google Play Store. The App is essential to participate in the voting process, it’s free and easy to use. Viewers can register with their Facebook or Twitter accounts.
According to the instructions, before each performance, viewers will be asked to check-in, and then when it’s time to vote, they will swipe Blue (to the right) to vote “yes” or red (to the left) to vote “no”. Results will be visible “in real time”, the network said.
The series airs over 10 weeks, with the qualifying rounds being held over the first 3. These shows will be 2 hours long each. These will be followed by the duels, quarterfinals, semifinals and finals, which will be an hour each episode.
Lisa’s chance to move forward and ultimately become the rising star depends on Guyanese downloading the App and supporting her.
