A special softball cricket tournament held in honour of top softball player Wayne Jones will take place today at the Demerara Cricket Club ground, Queenstown from 9.30am.
A number of the country’s top softball teams have confirmed their participation in the tournament which has received sponsorship from
Trophy Stall, Mike’s Pharmacy, Bel Air Rubis, Dave Doobay, Ramchand Auto Spares, Reaz Hussein and Petama Enterprise.
Among the teams taking part in the Masters category are Floodlights, Mike’s Wellman, Bel Air Rubis, Industry Super Kings,
Parika Defenders and Uitvlugt Warriors while the female teams entered so far are Blue Divas, Trophy Stall Angels, 4R Lioness and All Star Divas.
Entrance Fees for the Masters is $3,000 but there is no entrance fee for the females.
Trophies will be up grabs.
